The Casa de Tintes (House of Dyes) is located at one end of the Barrio de Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter of Seville, between the churches of San Esteban and San Bartolomé.

This area is that of the great palace-houses of Seville that are still inhabited, many of them by their owners, although others are Headquarters of the Administration. Here is located the wonderful Mudéjar Palace known as “La Casa de Pilatos”, and other similar large ones.

In this neighborhood lived Miguel de Mañara, whose life inspired Mozart the opera Don Giovanni, which for other writers and novellets was Don Juan Tenorio.
